Hello Everyone,                                                                                                                                  August 14, 2017

Just wanted to thank Beth, Mark and John for making our regional training day a great success. We had a large turnout with several clubs represented.  This region has a lot of talented trainers who are willing to help others and give back to the sport.

We also had the helper try outs for the IPO championship.  This time all the helpers selected are from other regions. The helper for the IPO 1&2 is Max Artemchik, front half of the IPO 3 is Alex Jacopino and the back half is Andrew Brennan. We will post there bio and picture to the regional website soon.

Please check the website for updates as well as trophy sponsor.

The Regional Conformation Show and Breed Survey is fast approaching, mark your calendars for September 9 & 10 get out and support our regional events and clubs.

Hello Everyone,                                                                                                                                       June 30, 2017

With the AWDF and WDC behind us, the Regional Championship will be here before you know it, so I wanted to share a few updates.

Alexandria SchH Verein will not be able to host the regional training day, so Blitzburg Hundesport Club has stepped up to host this event.  The details are still being worked out, but it is our intent to hold it in mid August, and also have a helper classification and try-out to pre-select the helpers to work the championship.

The second change is in our judges.  Carla Griffith, because of health reasons can not judge the tracking phase, so we have asked Robert Johantgen to step in for Carla and he has accepted. We wish Carla a speedy recovery and good health in the future.

The information for the RegionalChampionship can be found on the Regional website.  www.USCANortheastRegion.com. OG Wild Horse has secured a very nice stadium and tracking field, as well as hotel, so please see the website for all current info.

Hello Everyone,                                                                                                                                                                                   April 18, 2017

After much conversation and phone calls we have a host club for our Regional IPO Championship. Kristy Hudak and Sean McGinty along with the members of OG Wild Horse have stepped up to host our championship. Only a few details have been worked out so far, but they are the main ones, the dates are Oct. 13-15, and the judges are Carla Griffith, USCA/SV and Mike Caputo, PH.D, USCA/SV.

This is all that has been confirmed so far, so please be patient as a web site with more details will be coming soon. As more information becomes available, I will keep you posted. A big thank you to OG Wild Horse for stepping up so late into the season.

Hello Everyone                                                                                                                                                                  June 24, 2016

After much thought and a couple failed attempts to hold helper try outs, we’ve decided to ask all helpers “club Level” or higher who wish to do the helper work at our regional championship to contact me via email.  I will compose a list of qualified helpers who will try out at the regional championship.  Tryouts will be held on Friday after the competitor practice time.  Please forward this info to all interested helpers.  Interested helpers, please contact me with a copy of your USCA membership card and helper book.  Simply take a picture and email it to PJimenez5@verizon.net.  Once I have put the list together it will be posted on the regional championship website.  The try outs will be conducted by both judges and a regional officer (myself).  I would like to post a list by July 5, so please let’s get the word out and reach out to all helpers.

Hello Everyone,                                                                                                                                                                  June14, 2016

I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Beth Bradley with Fyte and Mark Saccoccio with Ali from our region on their accomplishment of making the WUSV team to represent the US.  Jim Alloway, Katie Gillies and Sean O’Kane round out the rest of the team. A big congrats and good luck in Meppen.

We are about 3 month away from our own regional Championship and things are underway to another great event. Http://www.nerchampionship.com, please check back often as new info is posted as things are finalized. We will have the helper try outs soon, I’m working on the date and location.

Barb Hill sent out an email earlier today, please consider reaching out and volunteering to help make our regional a memorable event.

When putting in for an EAF please forward me directly the confirmation email you get, because the USCA website does not always forward your request to me. If you do not here back within a few days of submission reach out to me directly.

As always I’m looking for clubs to host next years events so talk to your club members to see if your club may want to host an event next year, we will be voting on these clubs at the regional meeting at the regional championship.

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to send out a big congrats to all the handlers from the Northeast Region that competed this past weekend at the AWDF, especially Tim Karchnak and his dog Monty Extra Temperament ( Goose ) for their 4th place finish and making the FCI team.

The WDC is coming up soon and with 80 competitors it promises to be another excellent venue for us to show case our dogs, best of luck to all the handlers.

Hello Everyone,

Someone said it best when they called it The Nor’easter rather than the Northeastern Championship.  The rains came, the judges flight got delayed, rescheduled and delayed again to the point that during the draw we did not think Als flight would make it, so we asked Nikki Banfield if she would step in at the last minute ... and of course by last minute, we mean can you be here in 12 hours.  Well Frank's flight came in late that evening and Nikki was at the stadium the next morning ready to go. Thank you both Nikki and Frank for enduring the challenges of traveling to the event and then weather all weekend.

The competitors where very understanding and patient with the situation and for that I personally thank you for your cooperation.

I would like to congratulate Jim Hill and his dog Zwack, our 2015 Regional Champion, all the final results will be posted soon to the website soon.

Also I would like to welcome our new Secretary/Treasurer, Tina Werkheiser and regional Breed Warden, Bob Frampton, which brings me to thank Amanda Homan and Molly Graf respectively for the years of service to our region.

I will be sending out emails over the next week covering other topics which relate to the region moving ahead to next year.

Hello Everyone,

We are now less than 2 weeks away from our regional championship and there’s a lot of work going on behind the scene to assure that this event will be the caliber that you have come to expect. For the competitors I ask that you check the website regularly for updates and if you have any questions or concerns please contact T.

Also we are still in need of volunteers to help with the stadium set up, people for the group and various jobs, please reach out to your club members to come forward and help with our championship.

I should not have to say it but let me remind you that the stadium is off limits to everyone prior to the event and any competitor seen on the stadium field will be disqualified without a refund.

On another note our regional Breed Survey and Conformation  show will be held Oct. 9-11, one thing I wanted to point out is that there will be a IPO trial on Friday Oct. 9 so if you need a title before going for the show or survey you can achieve all of this in one weekend. If you have any questions contact Bob Frampton 631-588-4731 or caldbergh@aol.com

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

I wanted to say how nice it was to see so many of you this past weekend at the Regional Helper Seminar. LeHigh Valley Performance K-9 did an excellent job with hosting the event, thank you Rick and Tina Werkheiser and all the club members for all your hard work this past weekend. I also wanted to thank Jim Hill for his continued work and devotion to our region and the sport and his commitment to the helper program.

We had a total of 13 helpers participate in the seminar with 6 of those going for classification and 3 tried out for the championship, thank you to the handlers who brought dogs for the helpers to work we could not have done it with our you.

The helpers who have been selected to work our Regional Championship for this year are Tim Karchnak, Brandon Jenson and Daniel Gant, congratulations to these helpers for an excellent performance,  final selection for placement will be done by the protection judge at the event.
